Horse & Rider Training and Livery in North Wales Services & Prices

We anticipate that we will have a full/schooling livery vacancy in late autumn 2018: please contact Dawn if you are interested so you can arrange to come and visit the yard and have a chat about you and your horse’s requirements.

Livery packages can all be customised as clients require, by picking the appropriate type of livery & any extras you wish (see table here). Hence, exact fees will vary to the level of service you require, but you can calculate options and costs here:

ECONOMY FULL livery

  1. Our lowest-cost Full Livery - all the basics done, but you’d need to be around a little more, or pay a small supplement for extras such as additional rug changes (e.g. if you’ve left a cooler rug on your horse) and holding for vet and farrier.

  2. £10 per day

Standard FULL livery

  1. Full livery - by far our most popular option!

  2. All your horse’s important care needs are provided, including organising and holding for vet/farrier, leaving you free to enjoy your horse whenever you are able to get to the yard.

  3. Exercise isn’t included, although we have year round turnout (limited time in winter) and will endeavour to give your horse a leg stretch in the covered barn if the weather is simply too awful even for that.

  4. Extras available include ridden exercise, lungeing, schooling, clipping/trimming.

  5. £320/month

Standard PLUS FULL livery

  1. As standard full livery, plus twice a week exercise (hack, lunge, or school) by Dawn or assistant

  2. £360/month

Schooling Livery

  1. As Standard Full livery plus training by Dawn 4 days per week, plus hack/lunge by Dawn or assistant on Day 5.

  2. Routine grooming, clipping/trimming

  3. £400/month or as individually tailored to suit your horse, minimum 3 months.

EXTRAS FOR BASIC FULL LIVERY CLIENTS

  1. Additional changes of rugs (e.g. from cooler into night rug) - £1

  2. Holding for vet & farrier - £5

  3. Applying & taking off turnout socks/boots - £2.50

EXTRAS FOR ALL CLIENTS (UNLESS STATED AS INCLUDED IN LIVERY PACKAGE)

  1. Clipping - by arrangement: depends on both the behaviour of the horse & the thickness of the coat... angels are cheaper than devils, and we have to resharpen blades more for thick coats!

  2. Worming programme - charged at cost.

  3. Additional bedding in excess of one bale/week - charged at cost

  4. Additional hard feed or hay/haylage if your horse requires unusually large amounts - charged at cost

  5. Supplements - supplied by owner

  6. Rug washing - most owners arrange their own, but we can arrange on request for schooling liveries (or wait till the mass rug wash order we sent off in Spring!).

  7. Farrier (yard farriers, Mon & Eilian) - £65 full set, £35 front shoes/£10 hind trim, £20 trim all 4

  8. Pre-show trimming - by negotiation. Book via Dawn, but we may use external experts.

  9. Lessons - £10 (30 min private, or 45-60 minute group), £15 (45 minute private)

  10. Schooling/hacking sessions - extra to your livery package - £10 (subject to availability)

  11. Lungeing session - extra to your livery package - £5

PAYING YOUR LIVERY BILL

  1. Livery fees are payable one month in advance, with any chargeable extras billed at the end of the month they arise

  2. Cash or bank transfer - sorry no credit cards

  3. Farrier payment required in advance (it’s much easier to add the cost of a set of shoes to your deposit and then pay farrier bill “in arrears” after that!)

  4. Notice period to end agreement - one month all liveries.

Please note:

You are required to wear a hard hat whilst mounted

All liveries must hold Third Party Insurance on their horse - e.g. via BHS Gold membership

Whilst every care is taken, all services are provided at your own risk.

Your property (horse/tack/trailer/lorry) is not insured by Dawn or the yard owners: your insurance company will want to know your tack lives in shared tack room (unless you take it home with you)
